The Publications Office at Truman State University demonstrates shared team achievement for exceptional customer service to students, staff, faculty, departments, schools, and the University as a whole. They consistently strive to support Truman’s mission by designing professional materials that promote the university at local, state, national, and international levels. The Publications Office includes Manager Teresa Wheeler along with Winston Vanderhoof and Katie Best. These three dedicated individuals have many years of service at Truman. This team also mentors several outstanding students who are working to refine their craft and prepare for their future careers. The Office works on a variety of projects including the alumni magazine, commencement programs, the Lyceum series, and Homecoming materials along with posters for student recitals, on campus activities, and special events. Their work can be seen in buildings throughout the campus, at showcase events for prospective students, in Jefferson City when the University is showcased to our legislators, on book covers sold across the country, and through communications from around the world. They take pride in their work and are willing to work with clients until the final product exceeds the client’s vision. They welcome feedback along the way and don’t limit the number of changes that can be made. In addition, they work with different media as requested by clients. In our department they have worked to design materials and displays that promote the strength of our program to both prospective students and those already on campus. Their office is a hub of activity as they coordinate publications through multiple offices and departments until both parties are satisfied with the final product. When Quick Facts brochures are prepared, Publications coordinates the review process with the Departments and Admissions. The Truman campus depends on their expertise to support our mission and we appreciate their professionalism.
