The police officer will provide law enforcement services, prevention, detection and deterrence of crime through preventative patrol work within the community to identify concerns and problems and endeavor to reduce these problems; participate in departmental crime prevention programs and initiatives; work special details and events; provide support and assistance to persons who have been victims of crime; accurately and thoroughly complete reports related to criminal and non-criminal incidents; participate in department training programs; and produce positive community relations while working to enhance the image and respect of the department.
Required qualifications include U.S. citizenship; twenty-one years of age;
high school diploma or GED; must possess a valid driver’s license; have the
ability to be certified and commissioned as a police officer in the State of
Missouri; excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work as
a team within a University environment; demonstrate excellent organizational
skills; and an attention to deal. Available to work rotating shifts, overtime
and special events. Eyesight: 20/100 uncorrected; 20/25 corrected.
Preferred qualifications include graduation from an accredited Missouri Peace
Officer Standard Training Academy; current POST license; college coursework; and
prior law enforcement experience.
Final candidate(s) will be expected to undergo and satisfactorily pass a
background check, physical, computer voice stress analysis, drug screening and
psychological evaluation.
