The successful candidate will be cognizant of the challenges and changes affecting academic libraries, including the impact of emerging technologies on libraries, and will lead staff in a collegial manner to continually assess and develop library services for the University community. S/he will provide leadership and management for the Library’s reference, documents, interlibrary loan, instruction, circulation, stacks and periodicals/microforms areas (total of thirteen staff plus student employees). Responsibilities also include the development and implementation of policies and procedures in response to evolving needs of reference and other public service areas. This position provides direction and support for the Library’s active and successful instruction program; serves as liaison and subject specialist for at least one discipline; participates, as a member of the Library administrative group and Library Faculty, in management and planning decisions affecting the future of the Library; and performs service and collaborates with staff in the Library, University and the MOBIUS consortium. This position reports to the Dean of Libraries and Museums.
