Responsibilities include providing hardware and software technical support for personal computer systems; maintaining appropriate documentation of technical services provided; testing and resolving computer issues; providing technical support for classroom equipment; taking an active role in meeting customer needs; and other duties as assigned.
Required qualifications include an associate’s degree in information
technology or a closely related field, or two years of related work experience
demonstrating advanced technical knowledge, or an equivalent combination of
advanced education and experience; excellent customer service skills;
demonstrated hardware and software troubleshooting experience; experience with
the most current two general releases of both the Windows and Macintosh
operating systems; knowledge of MS Office Suite; strong interpersonal,
organizational, and communication skills; and demonstrated familiarity with both
Intel and Mac platforms.
Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a
closely related field; previous experience in an educational setting; experience
with MS SMS, Active Directory, and Exchange; experience with Linux/Unix;
experience with open source solutions such as Open Office; A+ technical
certification; and consulting experience with personal computer systems and
peripherals.
