Members of the Truman faculty with a traditional 9-month contract may elect to receive their salary over 9 payments (September to May) or 12 payments (September to August). Incoming faculty will make that selection at the time of hire.
Faculty may change their selection between academic years. Per IRS Section 409A, that change must occur prior to the beginning of the next academic year. All requests must be submitted in writing to Payroll or Human Resources prior to the first day of classes. Any requests made after that date will apply to the following academic year.
